QUEENS MAN INDICTED FOR MURDER IN STABBING DEATH OF HIS 72-YEAR-OLD FATHER

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Jaimie Walker, 30, has been indicted by a Queens grand jury charging him with murder and other crimes in the death of his 72-year-old father. The defendant was arraigned in Supreme Court today for allegedly beating and stabbing his father multiple times with a pair of scissors in the family’s Queens Village home on January 14, 2021. The defendant is additionally charged with criminal mischief for damaging the interview room inside a police precinct.

District Attorney Katz said, “This is a horrific crime. The defendant repeatedly plunged the shears of a pair of scissors into his own father’s neck. The elderly man bled to death on the bathroom floor of his home. This kind of slaying is almost unimaginable. The defendant now faces serious consequences for his alleged actions.”

Walker, of Hempstead Avenue in Queens Village, was arraigned today before Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Aloise on a 4-count indictment charging him with murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and criminal mischief in the third and fourth degree. Justice Aloise remanded the defendant and ordered him to return to court on April 13, 2021. If convicted, Walker faces up to 25 years-to-life in prison.

According to the charges, police officers who responded to scene found Loandous Walker, 72, lying on the bathroom floor, bloody and deceased. The defendant allegedly stomped on the elderly man’s head, choked him before using a pair of scissors to repeatedly stab the elderly man in the neck.

Additionally, said DA Katz, while at the 109th police precinct, the defendant allegedly slammed a table inside the interview room and then used the dismantled table parts to smash a two-way glass mirror.

The investigation was conducted by Detective Brendan Parpan of the New York City Police Department’s 105th Precinct Detective Squad.

Assistant District Attorney Kirk Sendlein, of the District Attorney’s Homicide Bureau, is prosecuting the case under the supervision of Assistant District Attorneys Brad A. Leventhal, Bureau Chief, Peter J. McCormack III, Senior Deputy Bureau Chief, John W. Kosinski, Deputy Bureau Chief and under the overall supervision of Executive Assistant District Attorney for Major Crimes Daniel A. Saunders.
