Press Release

FOUR REPUTED GANG MEMBERS INDICTED ON MURDER AND CONSPIRACY CHARGES FOR SHOOTING DEATH OF 16-YEAR-OLD INNOCENT BYSTANDER

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Messiah Randall, Jomar Pointdujour, Nicolson Pierrimas and Zaire Rolley, reputed members and associates of the 007 gang, have been indicted on charges of murder, conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon for their alleged roles in the shooting death of 16-year-old Claudia Quatey in May 2023 in St. Albans. The victim was seated in a vehicle directly behind the intended target, a member of a rival gang, when she was shot in the head.

District Attorney Katz said: “As alleged, the four defendants acted in concert to plan and carry out the murder of a perceived gang rival when they instead shot and killed 16-year-old Claudia Quatey. Gang violence terrorizes neighborhoods, puts innocent people at risk and leaves lasting trauma for families and communities for decades. We will hold the defendants accountable for this senseless tragedy and continue to work with our law-enforcement partners to dismantle gangs in this borough.”

Randall, a.k.a. “Siah,” 19, of St. Albans, Pierrimas, a.k.a “Smuddy,” 20, of Cambria Heights, and Rolley, 21, of St. Albans, were arraigned today before Queens Supreme Court Justice Bruna DiBiase on indictment charges of murder in the second degree, four counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and conspiracy in the second degree. Pointdujour, a.k.a “JoJo,” 19, of Rosedale, is in custody on another matter and will be arraigned at a later date.

Justice DiBiase remanded the defendants and set the next court dates as follows: Randall and Pierrimas are due back in court on March 16, Rolley is due back in court on April 15. If convicted, each of the four defendants face up to 25 years to life in prison.

District Attorney Katz said that, according to the indictment and investigation, the defendants are all alleged members and associates of the 007 gang. On May 10, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the victim was with a group of four friends, one of whom sought a confrontation with another teen at that teen’s house. Both parties agreed to meet at a neighboring park at P.S. 15 in St. Albans.

Shortly afterward, defendants Randall, Pierrimas, Pointdujour and Rolley met at a home located around the block from the school. At approximately 8:16 p.m., the four defendants left the home and began walking toward the school.

The planned confrontation between the two teens took place near the park and all respective parties returned to their vehicles at approximately 8:25 p.m. The victim and her four friends entered a blue Hyundai Venue with Quatey sitting in the rear passenger seat, directly behind a reputed member of the TopOpp gang, rivals to the 007 gang.

Seconds after the Hyundai pulled away from the curb, Randall and Pierrimas allegedly fired multiple rounds at the vehicle. The four defendants immediately fled the scene.

The driver of the Hyundai turned the corner and called 911 after realizing that the victim had been shot. No one else in the vehicle was injured.

Quatey was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died days later from a gunshot wound to the head.

The joint investigation was conducted by the Violent Criminal Enterprises Bureau of the Queens District Attorney’s Office, along with detectives from the 113th Precinct Detective Squad and Queens South Homicide Squad.

Assistant District Attorneys Joanna Matuza and Charles Dunn of the District Attorney’s Violent Criminal Enterprises Bureau are prosecuting the case, under the supervision of Assistant District Attorneys Jonathan Sennett, Bureau Chief, and Barry Frankenstein and Philip Anderson, Deputy Bureau Chiefs, and under the overall supervision of Executive Assistant District Attorney for Investigations Joseph T. Conley III.
