Theresa Shanahan

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY FOR THE CRIMINAL PRACTICE AND POLICY DIVISION

Theresa Shanahan serves as the Executive Assistant District Attorney for the Criminal Practice and Policy Division. Ms. Shanahan graduated from St. John’s Law School and has been a prosecutor for over 32 years.
Ms. Shanahan began her career in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office where she tried numerous cases including drug possession, sex offenses, vehicular crimes and homicides . Ms. Shanahan was also the Deputy Bureau Chief and Bureau Chief of the Early Case Assessment Bureau, First Deputy Bureau Chief of the Investigations Bureau, and the First Deputy Bureau Chief of a Trial Bureau in Kings County.
