Jared R. Rosenblatt

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY

Jared Rosenblatt serves as the Executive Assistant District Attorney for the Special Prosecutions Division. He previously served as the Chief of the Homicide/Major Offense Bureau and Director of Forensic Science/Cold Case Prosecutions at the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.

In 2022, Rosenblatt successfully prosecuted the oldest criminal case in the United States developed from a DNA hit, a homicide from 1968. He led the investigation and prosecution in multiple missing person cases that resulted in the unearthing and identification of human remains belonging to five previously missing individuals, resulting in top count murder convictions to those responsible.

From 2004 to 2016, Rosenblatt worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, where he last served as Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Homicide Trials Bureau. In total, Rosenblatt completed more than fifty trials to verdict for cases involving such crimes as murder, rape, kidnapping, robbery and burglary.

In 2014, he helped create and supervise the first ever Queens DA Mock Trial Tournament, a tradition that continues to be held annually.

Rosenblatt currently works at Hofstra Law School as an adjunct professor overseeing and coaching Hofstra’s Trial Teams to regional and national titles. In 2018, he created Hofstra’s Medical-Legal Mock Trial Tournament. It is the only trial tournament in the country that combines the work of a Medical School and a Law School. Presently, his classroom courses include Advanced Trial Advocacy and Courtroom Technology, and Advanced Competition Skills. He has lectured at regional and national trial advocacy conferences around the country.

Mr. Rosenblatt graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and Hofstra Law School, where he was Articles Editor on the Family Court Review. After Law School, he served as a litigation associate at a large civil law firm in New York City.
