QUEENS DISTRICT ATTORNEY RICHARD A. BROWN NAMES ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY KRISTIN J. FRASER AS RECIPIENT OF THE 14th ANNUAL HAL MILLER WEINSTEIN MEMORIAL AWARD
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown today announced that Assistant District Attorney Kristin J. Fraser has been named the recipient of the Queens District Attorney's Office’s fourteenth annual Hal Miller Weinstein Memorial Award.
In a ceremony held today in the District Attorney's Office, District Attorney Brown presented the award to Assistant District Attorney Fraser. The award is given annually in honor of former Assistant District Attorney Hal Miller Weinstein who died tragically in a car accident in April 1992.
Among those present were the late Assistant District Attorney’s uncle, Queens Supreme Court Justice Jeremy S. Weinstein, Supervising Judge of the Queens Civil Court, and his brother, Lloyd, who is also an attorney. Also in attendance were members of the Class of 2004, as well as the Executive Staff of the District Attorney's Office. In addition, Kristin’s parents, William and Anne Fraser were in attendance.
District Attorney Brown said, “Each year this award is presented to a member of our first-year class who most exemplifies Hal Weinstein’s spirit, enthusiasm and dedication to public service. Hal touched the lives of many of us here in this office. His warmth and friendship was felt by all of us. The professionalism demonstrated by Kristin Fraser as well as her deep commitment to the office truly exemplify the spirit of Hal Weinstein.”
Assistant District Attorney Fraser obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Loyola University in 1998, graduating in the top third of her class. She was Captain of the Varsity Women’s Basketball Team, and was awarded a place on the Athletic-Academic Honor Roll for four years. A 2001 graduate at St. John’s School of Law, she was in the top 11% of her class, achieving Dean’s List Honors. She was employed by a Wall Street law firm as an associate attorney before joining the District Attorney’s office in April 2004.
Assistant District Attorney Fraser is assigned to the District Attorney’s Homicide Investigations Bureau and has also excelled in additional work assignments for the Criminal Court/Intake Bureau.
