District Attorney Brown said, “The defendant has been convicted of intentionally murdering his best friend in his own home before fleeing the scene. His actions will now result in his serving serious prison time.”

The District Attorney identified the defendant as Kevin Williams, 27, of 1113 East 73rd Street in Brooklyn. The District Attorney said that, according to trial testimony, the defendant stabbed the victim, Shawn O’Neil, 31, numerous times in the face, neck and chest and then shot the victim once in the head with a 9mm. semi-automatic handgun before fleeing the scene. The murder occurred on February 14, 2003 during a dispute in the victim’s home at 146-18 Huxley Street in the Rosedale section of Queens.
