District Attorney Brown said, “In admitting his guilt, the defendant acknowledged that he was responsible for violently taking the life of his mother. The imposed prison sentence reflects the gravity of his offense, and he must now accept the consequences of his decision.”

District Attorney Brown identified the defendant as Robert Jean-Lord, 28, of 92-35 216 Street in Queens Village, Queens. The defendant pleaded guilty on October 11, 2005, to Manslaughter in the First Degree before Queens Supreme Court Justice Randall T. Eng who imposed today’s sentence.

The defendant then took a piece of a broken mirror and slashed his wrist before summoning police to his house.
