DISTRICT ATTORNEY BROWN TO TOUR QUEENS NEIGHBORHOODS FOR “NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME”
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown will tour neighborhoods throughout Queens county tomorrow night to help highlight the annual “National Night Out Against Crime.” The special anti-crime event is being observed across New York City with a full schedule of events ranging from crime prevention lectures to youth activities.
District Attorney Brown said, “‘National Night Out Against Crime’ was established nearly ten years ago during the height of New York City’s violent street crime epidemic. The night has served as a way for citizens to symbolically reclaim their streets. Now, as the crime rate continues to plummet, National Night Out remains an important reminder of the need to continue the vigilant fight to maintain public safety. During the evening the residents of Queens County have an opportunity to meet with police officers and law enforcement officials who protect their neighborhoods and who are largely responsible for the sharp reduction in violent crime and the significant improvement in the quality of life.”
District Attorney Brown is expected to attend events at the 100th, 102nd, 103rd, 107th, 109th and 112th police precincts.
