DISTRICT ATTORNEY BROWN TO CRISS-CROSS THE COUNTY FOR "NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME"
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced today that the Annual "National Night Out Against Crime" will be observed tomorrow night, Tuesday, August 1st with a full schedule of events ranging from crime prevention lectures to youth activities at precincts across Queens County.
District Attorney Brown said "National Night Out Against Crime was established during the height of the epidemic of violent street crime in New York City as a way for citizens to symbolically reclaim the streets. With recent dramatic decreases in crime National Night Out is an important reminder of the need to remain vigilant in the fight against crime. Tomorrow night is an occasion when the residents of Queens County can get out and meet the police officers and law enforcement officials who work in their neighborhoods and are largely responsible for the sharp reduction in violent crime and the significant improvement in the quality of life.
