Time Keeper

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney is currently seeking applicants for a Timekeeper to support our Human Resources and Payroll Services Unit. The Timekeeper will report to the Supervisor, Time and Leave and will be responsible for a variety of timekeeping matters including, but not limited to:

1. Receiving, organizing and maintaining confidential timekeeping documents including timesheets, supporting documentation and the related.

2. Entering timekeeping data into the CityTime system and reviewing leave or other requests for consistency with City and/or Office policies.

3. Creating and maintaining an organized and complete timekeeping file for assigned employees through scanning and appropriate storage of paper documents.

4. Responding to employee inquiries regarding leave balances, appropriate procedures or other related matters via phone, email or in person.

5. Conferring with supervisors as required to ascertain approvals for submitted requests and/or special circumstances. 6. Assisting in running reports, processing timekeeping data for payroll calculation and other duties relating to timekeeping, recordkeeping, general HR-related inquiries, as required.

Qualification Requirements:

High school diploma and at least one year of experience performing clerical, timekeeping and/or payroll duties or equivalent education and/or experience. Must have working knowledge of computers and email, excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational ability.

Strong preference will be given to applicants with experience in timekeeping, including experience with the City of NY and City systems including PMS, CityTime and CHRMS.
