SENIOR RACKETS INVESTIGATOR

Government agency seeks candidates for Senior Rackets Investigator openings. Graduation from high school, or its equivalent, and minimum three years of full-time paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work required, one year of which must have been in rackets or police investigative work.  A combination of education and/or experience, equivalent to above is acceptable, provided there is one year of full-time paid experience in rackets or police investigative work. Extensive knowledge and investigative experience in one or more of the following areas preferred:  narcotics trafficking, gun trafficking, money laundering, elder abuse, violent crime, special victims cases, domestic violence, gangs, public integrity, governmental fraud, revenue crimes, white collar crime, and the use of state of the art electronic investigative equipment. Applicants will be responsible for conducting especially difficult and highly confidential investigations, working in conjunction with other investigators and assisting Assistant District Attorneys in preparation of material for trial, have knowledge and experience with court procedures and criminal trials, the ability to assist in preparation of cases for court and to testify effectively in court, as well as the ability to use electronic and technical equipment.  Fluency in a second language is a plus. Current or renewable NYS police officer certification preferred.

SUPERVISING RACKETS INVESTIGATOR

Government agency seeks candidates for Supervising Rackets Investigator openings. Graduation from high school, or its equivalent, and minimum four years of full-time paid experience in police enforcement or investigative work required, two years of which must have been in rackets or police investigative work. A combination of education and/or experience, equivalent to above is acceptable, provided there are two years of full-time paid experience in rackets or police investigative work. Extensive knowledge and investigative experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: narcotics trafficking, gun trafficking, money laundering, elder abuse, violent crime, special victims cases, domestic violence, gangs, public integrity, governmental fraud, revenue crimes, white collar crime, and the use of state of the art electronic investigative equipment. Applicants will be responsible for supervising investigators conducting investigations, as well as correlating information gathered by investigators, performing especially difficult and highly confidential investigations, training subordinates in specialized technical procedures and the preparation of reports for prosecutors. Candidates will assist Assistant District Attorneys in preparation of material for trial; have knowledge and experience with court procedures and criminal trials, the ability to assist in preparation of cases for court and to testify effectively in court, as well as the ability to use electronic and technical equipment.
