Government agency seeks candidates for a Chief Investigator opening. This is a managerial position involving highly confidential matters with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, performing and supervising all investigations office-wide.  Applicants must have extensive supervisory and investigative experience in one or more of the following areas:  money laundering, major crimes, special victims’ cases, domestic violence, gangs, public integrity, rackets, governmental fraud and white collar crime. The Chief Investigator will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing a large number of varied and complex investigations as well as the supervision of over 70 investigative staff. Candidates will have comprehensive knowledge of the techniques and procedures used in criminal investigations, techniques of securing evidence, laws of arrest and court procedures, along with the ability to plan, coordinate and supervise the work of investigative staff. The Chief Investigator will be responsible for making investigative case recommendations to legal staff and the District Attorney; will accompany and/or represent the District Attorney at law enforcement meetings and serve as the Office’s primary law enforcement liaison with outside agencies; will be responsible for the overall security of the agency’s office facilities and its employees, and will be required to respond to duties related to emergency management as needed. Minimum of 10 years law enforcement and supervisory experience required.  Current or renewable NYS police officer certification required. Applicant must pass background investigation and must be certifiable as a police officer in NYS.
